The Autumnal Equinox
Today is the Autumnal Equinox and the official first day of Fall. The term “fall” was likely a deviation from the Old English words “fiaell” and “feallan,” both of which mean “to fall from a height.” Well, this leaf fell from a great height and I picked it up in the driveway. I loved it's wrinkled, leathery look. It's sitting on my breakfast table now. Yesterday it was a moth that looked like a dried up leaf. Today it is actually a dried up leaf! What an exciting life I lead!
