Rain all day...

So photography was limited to exploring the orchids on the windowsill, an excuse to play with some soft focus effects.
However, I did get out for a brief interlude, between showers, to pick some of the quinces in the garden. Some are beginning to split; it's definitely time to get out the preserving pan and the jelly bag :-)
I realise that I am turning away from all the online and press reports about this weekend's Labour Party conference.  Labour, so often, is the focus of enormous hopes followed by disillusionment and heartbreak. Perhaps they'll stop scoring own goals now; it would be a relief.
