Misty Morning

We woke to a damp and misty morning. Whilst the others got ready for the day, Merlin and I enjoyed a walk along the Thames. There were plenty of people out - running, walking, and cycling. On the water rowers gathered for training. I paused to watch them and also to admire Richmond Lock and Footbridge. The lock was opened in the late 1800s to maintain navigability of Thames which is of course a tidal river as far as Teddington. It’s the furthest downstream of 45 locks on the Thames. I particularly admired the architecture and engineering.
