U.N. Involved in Decommissioning Unwieldy Tent

The lovely thing about camping is meeting different nationalities and discovering our similarities, rather than our differences. My husband speaks to everyone and is quite unabashed seeking help to take down our 'easy to put up' tent. The combined brains and brawn of Scotland, France and Spain eventually managed to manoeuvre it back in its cover and there it will stay until next year. Today we're off to San Sebastián - and a hotel. But I will miss the campsite - the mixture of peoples and ages. One Dutch family told us they had moved from a mainly Dutch site in France because nationalities start doing 'funny things' when they are alone; they, like us, prefer a mixture. The children here have been charming. All are friendly and outgoing. Last night two Spanish kids asked my husband and myself up to do the Spanish equivalent of the birdie dance in the outdoor restaurant. Great fun - and everyone puts us to shame with their mastery of English. Again we have resolved that over the winter we'll get down to improving our skills.
