A Picture of Dorian Lynskey
I’ve been down to visit my mum in Sussex for the weekend - always a pleasure - but made it back to Liverpool this evening in time to get to the Laughterhouse comedy club for a recording of the ‘Oh God! What Now?’ podcast - one of my favourite twice-weekly listens https://www.podmasters.co.uk/oh-god-what-now The OGWN team were in town for the Labour Party conference and tonight’s audience were treated to the usual mix of insightful but highly entertaining punditry and discussion from some of the regular panellists.
The place was absolutely packed (as you see) and I barely caught sight of journalists Zoë Grünewald https://thelead.uk/zoe-grunewald and Jonn Elledge https://www.newstatesman.com/author/jonn-elledge or tonight’s special guest, Labour’s Emily Thornberry - current Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Thornberry
However, I managed to catch several glimpses of host, Dorian Lynskey https://www.dorianlynskey.com a journalist and author whom I’ve long admired - not least for his music journalism. Aside from his regular gig co-hosting OGWN, he also co-hosts the excellent ‘Origin Story’ podcast with Ian Dunt. Highly recommended. https://www.podmasters.co.uk/origin-story
Since Dorian has an encyclopaedic knowledge of George Orwell (and has written a book about him) today’s musical offering is Radiohead’s ‘2+2=5’ https://youtu.be/11oAXmVdEyQ?si=vkS6GYriwMORPj7g
