I’m getting like my mum

Here is her kingfisher plate on my kitchen wall, her kingfisher chopping board, her oxalis plant which I’ve managed to keep alive since she died 13 years ago. But now , I’ve gone and bought, from Lakeland (her favourite shop) a little net umbrella to keep the fruit flies away from my fruit bowls. They’re so much worse this year I decided to get one. She always used one as she lived in the country next to a farm with horses and sheep. And she was always making cakes.
