Startling Starling

There was a brighter start to the morning than I had anticipated.  The birds were queuing up on the fence waiting for their daily ration of mealworms.  I obliged and in turn this young starling posed well for me.  Its head has still to darken but otherwise it is fully fledged.

Enjoyed a beach walk prior to the rain. It had been forecast to start earlier in the day. The skies darkened as they became overcast and it has rained non-stop since then.

I do like the markings and colourful tints of starlings when you see them close up, it makes them more appealing.
