A Wee Sparra

Sadly the blue skies of last week have been replaced by grey skies this week. It looks like they are set to remain with us for quite a few more days at the very least.

Our ‘resident’ robin has been appearing in the garden at regular intervals over the past few weeks but I have yet to capture a picture of it. It’s not just robin who has returned but lots of sparrows and quite a few starlings are back too.

I took this picture of a female house sparrow sitting on the fence waiting to be fed.  After taking its picture I rewarded it and others with dried meal worms.  Not sure if robin got any but there will be more scattered around tomorrow and maybe, just, maybe I’ll get a photo of it.

On viewing the sparrow on a bigger screen I was surprised to see just how many layers of feathers it has.
