Long but not for long

When we woke up we were delighted to see the sun shining and some blue sky... finally the deluge had stopped. A quiet morning getting the house tidy for the cleaner to come this afternoon.. she missed last week so we were looking forward to a thorough overhaul!  Obviously I had kept on top of most of it but having someone go through the house thoroughly is such a treat. The house next to us owns the driveway we use and changed hands last wednesday, today there were surveyors all over the place.. 3D scanning and measuring every inch..it has rather worried me.. what are we in for now?  We must introduce ourselves soon I think and see what they have in mind... really praying they are not going to be too heavy handed.
Tea time and eldest daughter arrived with Jasper on the way back from the vet booster trip.  She had left some bits behind so collected those as well as had a cup of tea.. I shuffled her out the door before it got too dark so that she walked back to the boat in daylight (half an hour walking through floods and in rain last night was not something I wanted her to repeat in any way especially as she had Jasper in a backpack)
