Made for Friends
We're fortunate to have 3 community-run halls in the village and they're all well-utilised. 15 years ago the very basic garden at the back of St Mary's was the subject of a loving makeover. Local residents created a space for small groups, friends to chinwag and individuals to reflect. There are beds, pots and specimen trees dividing the garden into several separate areas. There's a gazebo, bbq, table and chairs. At the far end of the garden is the river Test.
The gates are left open during the day and people of all generations pass through.
If only every community gave time and space for this kind of creation.
