Honeycomb Underground

As I wrote the title I immediately thought of a '70s pop group.

However, this is on travels again and I admired the design efforts that went into this station. Whilst we can easily take transport infrastructure for granted, I'm reminded of the efforts made from early London underground times right up to today: specific typefaces, colour coding even the wall tiles, lighting, perspective, tactile features, simple icons etc.

Large scale public design is an art and a skill - have a look when you next visit a large construction.
