Turning

Today ended up being drier than expected - something of a relief after all the rain these past three days. Whilst I yearn for the summer to continue, the autumn colours bring warmth and cheer amidst the damp and duller weather. The pink berries shown here are on a European spindle tree.

It’s been a day of indoor jobs. Merlin now has a new bed, lead and harness on their way and Andy has arranged for the tyre on the car to be replaced after it developed a puncture on the way back from the supermarket. I’ve also roasted aubergines, beetroot, courgettes and peppers as we have a glut to use after being away and unable to harvest any vegetables in the garden and allotment. I made a spread for sandwiches using the beetroot and some Borlotti beans grown last year (along with tahini, garlic, ginger and lemon) - it’s very tasty.

Hoping your day has been a good one.
