Keeping cool

The pigeons were having a lovely time trying to keep cool today. There is a tree in the park whose branches bend down into the pond below. The pigeons sat on these branches, enjoying the cool shade of the tree above and the refreshing water below. They often had a little dip before returning to chill out on the branch. It was quite amusing watching them. A bit like a busy time at the local outdoor pool. There is always the splashy, loud one and the one who just wants to bob about and keep cool. These two seemed quite content to just fluff out their feathers and sit in companionable silence.
