Winning
A wonderful 3-0 win for the mighty Iron in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup against Grimsby Town today. OK, Grimsby were pretty awful and one league lower than us but we take any kind of a win and celebrate it these days.
I'm really hoping this'll be the year where football supporting becomes a pleasure again and not a source of misery. I'm looking forward to this season and today brought definite positives. I didn't see players hiding or putting in no effort and I didn't see the manager setting them up to play as Barcelona. Only Barcelona can successfully play as Barcelona and only an idiot would try and make Scunthorpe do it. I did see effort and endeavour all over the pitch from players who think they can win again and also a return to a good old 4-4-2, blood and thunder style of play. So no more relegation, Scunny and maybe a few wins for your long suffering but very loyal support.
In other news the Little Ginger Boy found out his year six SATs results yesterday and was over the moon to discover he achieved level 4 mathematics, the Holy Grail of results! He has always struggled to understand any of the concepts of maths (he's not the only one) and has worked his socks off to get to this point. He is rightly very proud of himself, but not half as proud as me and the Big Bloke are of him. Well done, Joey xx
