On This Day

Reservoir Walk

First thing this morning I made a big pot of 'everything that needed to be used up' soup. That'll do me for a few days. Then the boiler was serviced ready for winter.

Up to Sheriffmuir to meet a friend and walk a brisk circuit of the reservoir. The wind blew us along and it didn't take long. She had brought her campervan and we had coffee and chocolate brownies in the cosiness after our walk. Luxury.

Home and another friend had asked me in for lunch. There were six of us. She had prepared much more sophisticated soup followed by Eve's pudding. A lovely couple of hours with lots of chat eg Lyme's Disease, gut biome, caffeine, public transport.

I now need to take Flora out again before a couple of zooms. The second is my monthly trustee meeting which will go on well into the evening. No time for blip again.

The lovely tune 'Farewell to Stromness' was played on Radio 3 this morning in honour of my friend's late husband. It is always an emotional sounding piece of music and never more so than today.
