Strange meetings

This morning I went to U3A where Shaun Higgins, author and performer ( he wrote and was the villain in the pantomimes that I was involved in) performed his one man play Strange Meetings.

It documented the final 15 months of the life of Wilfred Owen, the WW1 poet who was born in Oswestry and is commemorated by this statue in Cae Glas Park. He was sadly killed just one week before the end of the war. Information about him here

Shaun used Owen's poems and letters to give a very moving and memorable experience.  There wasn't a sound in the room as we were all gripped by his excellent performance.
