Portrait Of The Artist
On John Szarkowski's continuum from mirrors to windows, this image sits well toward reflecting the concerns of the artist and probably contains one of very few portraits of the photographer at work.
What can I say, I like bubbles. Possibly not champagne or washing up, but these, at the edge of the lake, constantly breaking apart and reforming as the water laps against the rocks, intrigued me.
Extra: Places To Go. A red-tailed hawk, I think, as Merlin offered me that or Swainson's. Not, I think, a cooper's hawk, as I originally thought, because of the all white vs striped breast.
