I am safe at my daughter’s house and will be able to go home tomorrow after the bridge is opened to the barrier islands. Currently there is no power at my house and other areas of Sarasota so I hope that’s back on tomorrow.
Took photos of the storm but none of them were very good. My friends who live on Siesta Key did not evacuate and are now stranded. This photo is their car on the driveway in front of their home. Storm surge from the hurricane was predicted but people who have lived here over 30 years have never seen flooding like this. Just horrible.
