Boys were duly despatched, and I took myself off to Her's to walk the dog in the breezy conditions whilst She washed hair / chose clothes etc.
Then off to Leith for the latest round of birthday stuff. Having missed out on the actual birthday lunch on Monday (rescheduled for next Wednesday; it's a long story), it fell to Plaice on Constitution St to pick up the slack.
It used to accommodate the Chop House, but chef Dean Banks has 'popped up' here and so - the lure of lobster was too much to resist.
Food was tasty enough; but we left feeling that we'd only really had 2 different dishes for our money; whereas Heron / Timberyard and others had offer more variety. Glad I've been; not sure I'd go to Leith for seafood and ignore Fisher's over Plaice.
Back up the road; and after a cuppa, I headed for home with the pup; to tend to the boys.
Alex froze at football practice as once the sun dropped below the skyline, the chill of the wind began to bite hard. Tickets were booked for Bolton next week. The thrills never start around here.
