One of the events of the year . . . the North York Moors Railway – NYMR – Steam Gala. Some splendid participants in the Gala, including locos Eddystone, Omaha, and Pitchford Hall. More boring details below if you are interested . . .

First image shows what happens all too often . . . extras include Driver Duties, Eddystone, Banker and Eric.
A grand touch to detail . . . 9F locos were built to pull heavy freight trains and NYMR run 92134. This was re-numbered for the gala as 92079, built in Crewe in 1956 for the LMR and used as a Banker loco to assist by pushing heavy trains uphill. This is exactly how it was employed today by pushing from the back. The Fat Controller was very happy.
