Mississippi River in Natchez

Early up & out, grabbed a taxi back to the airport to collect our hire car for the next week.

We started our road trip, first stop later today will be Natchez……176 miles away, but the roads here are mostly great, well signposted too!

An easy drive saw us arrive around 2.30, no check in until 4, so we wandered the high street, found the local coffee house, shared a blue cheese salad & an apple scone, washed down with a nice coffee, even got a cappucino which is not the norm here ;-)

I took this shot from the bedroom window just before we took a drive into Ferriday for little look around, hoping to find some live music as it’s the birthplace of Jerry Lee Lewis….. it was dead :-( but we did manage to find a local Mexican cantina, the food was lovely…… not as spicy as we’d hoped though!

Called into the lobby bar back at the hotel, a couple of JD & coktígot chatting to a couple of americans from Texas about their forthcoming election & then onto music, in particular
