Friday...how did it become Friday already?
After getting warmed up with a roaring fire the night before, a sound last night of sleep was had in the cottage before being awoken at 9am with a call from my youngest - a mini drama but nothing that couldn't be resolved with half an hour on the telephone. Ms.Arell made us both a mug of tea & a hearty bowl of porridge that we sat to enjoy afterwards, keeping warm with a tartan rug, reflecting on our week with wanderings of where did the week go so quickly?
Afterwards we set about packing up our things into motorcycle'able chunks of luggage and loading them onto the bikes before giving the cottage a tidy up & shutting everything down.
Engines were then warmed up, motorcycle clothing climbed into, and a hill bimbled down, rolling out from the tree cover to greet a bright sky and continuing into Keswick to top up the fuel tanks at the nearest garage. From there the road led to a now familiar parking bay and we strolled to our equally comfortable cafe for pasties & coffee.
With our own reserves replenished, it was one last selfie & soothing til' next time hug in the carpark before cruising out of Keswick onto the A66 where much natter was had on our indispensable Cardos up to the Penrith junction, waving our goodbyes and heading North for Fidra & South for little Biscuit.
After having good company piped into my helmet it's a strange thing suddenly not having that conversation and being told to switch my indicators off(!) so I 'Hey Google'd some music, sat behind a lorry at a comfortable distance and soaked up some autumn sunshine. My attention was jolted temporarily a while further on by another Classic 350 loaded with luggage on the opposite carriageway and I wondered where they were adventuring off to.
At Lancaster (ahem, Forton) I stopped for a quick nip to the loo and to enter the twilight zone, seeing that a WhatsApp had been sent a mere 10 minutes earlier from Annandale Water Service Station in bonny Scotland...how's that for timing...so I sent one back. An hour and a bit later pulling onto my driveway I saw another WhatsApp received less than 5 minutes prior from a cosy part of Midlothian...I honestly didn't expect our timing in opposite directions to be so close but there you go!
Packing Biscuit away and unloading her luggage, there were Hellos to be had, a load of holiday washing popped into the machine and after a cuppa, a happy little Doggo to be walked with Youngest to see my parents.
Your Gal now has a week's worth of everybody else's Blips to catch up on! Thank you Ms.Arell for sharing a lovely week exploring & hanging out together...ooh and for the big slice of banana cake you sneaked into by bag, naughty but it was very Nom :-)
