Howling?!

What happened today was...................... Ann got stung by a load of jellyfish!

After yesterday's stormy weather (which washed up loads of jellyfish onto the beach), this morning was positively summer like, so Ann and one of her swimming buddies, Paul, decided to go for a swim. They went to Bamaluz Beach, did a 'risk assessment', NO jellyfish on the beach, good!! Jumped OK stepped sedately into the sea and splashed around for a bit telling each other how lovely it was.

I sat at the waters edge and howled and howled and howled.......................

For those of you who read our Blips regularly, you will know that when I go swimming with Ann I usually just lie in 'good dog mode' next to her stuff and guard it until she comes out of the water. Ann didn't have a clue what was wrong with me. She kept yelling at me to shut up. I could see her, so she didn't understand why I was howling, but she was getting very angry with me. It was only 8am in the morning, there are houses above the beach and she said people would be having a lie in so they wouldn't want to hear a silly little Collie howling for half an hour. …...........I continued to howl!

After a couple of mins Ann thought she had been stung by a jellyfish and then Paul said that he could see a couple of jellyfish, and then Ann felt that she had been stung again and then Paul said that he had been stung. And then they looked into the sea properly and they were literally swimming with hundreds of jellyfish, …...................so they got out of the sea pronto.

I was very happy that Ann had got out of the sea, but now she's wondering if I had some sort of 6th sense or knowledge that she was swimming with stinging jellyfish. What do you think?!!

Ann & Paul were in the sea for less than 5 mins, but in that time Ann managed to get stung 11 times on the upper part of her body. At this point Ann was in agony, but as the only option to get home was to walk, we did our usual walk/play back along Porthmeor Beach, so at least I got a decent walk. Though Ann did feel the need to tell three dog walking people, that we recognised but normally just say hello to, that she'd been stung by jellyfish. She was looking for a bit of sympathy cos she thought she might go into anaphylactic shock! Honestly, she's such a drama Queen!

Anyway, once we got home and she'd counted all her jellyfish stings and tried to photograph them she had a shower  they don't hurt anymore, (apart from one) so all is good.

We've put a photo of the only one that Ann managed to capture in a selfie, in extras just for our own records. Ann is covered in 11 angry red blotches but they're not sore so all is good. She's worked all day, taken me out for another walk when she came home, and now she's off out for dinner, so life is good.

BUT........................... the question still remains............................. Did I know that there were jellyfish in the sea? Is that why I was howling?
