Sunlit Cherub
Well...I had my day planned. M was off to Ely to meet his good friend G for lunch. I was going to clean the wooden blinds and wash the insides of the windows, amongst other rather mundane jobs.
However, when I saw what a glorious autumn day it was, I decided to go along with M and take myself off around Ely while he had his 'boys' lunch.
I had a lovely day. I went to my usual tea room and had a delicious cheese toastie and a coffee. I had a great upstairs seat in front of a window overlooking the green around the cathedral so I was able to watch all the comings and goings while I ate. I then enjoyed myself browsing around the shops.
As I'd taken my camera I decided to walk around the cathedral to see what I could spot. It costs £14 to go in there now. I decided it wasn't worth paying unless I was going to spend a lot of time in there. I did pop into the back entrance though and in the porch I found a marble commemorative plaque and I was rather struck by the sun catching the face of this cherub. I chose this for blip as I've posted photos of the outside view of the cathedral many times before.
M was pleased that I'd gone, not just because I'd enjoyed my day but also because he could indulge in a glass of wine as I drove us back home.
