Mrs Evil Goat

As our HT trials were cancelled today we decided to take Jack to Pickering for a couple of rounds of jumping. They had a pole down in each class and in the first class he refused two fences which isn't like him. In hindsight think it was because of the timing cameras distracting him as they were otherwise inviting fences but were the only two where the cameras were positioned. He flew over them in the next round.

There was an absolutely awful family there - the kid was entered on 4 different ponies. He was riding with spurs and kicking the hell out of his ponies and also thrashing them with a long schooling whip. They completely took over the warm up ring (I wasn't the only one peed off when them) It was absolutely disgusting. He can't have been very old but was being advised by his Grandma aka fag ash lil and his orange mother with Botox lips. You can just picture the type! Really disappointed that the ring stewards didn't call them out on it. Continue to be proud of Eva for riding beautifully and looking after her pony rather than being obsessed with winning a bit of colored ribbon!!

When we got back to the yard we got Indy in and did some more in hand stuff. He quickly got the three things I wanted to work on (starting and stopping when I do without aids, poll release and turn on forehand) We did a bit of desensitisation all over his body. He is not too keen on picking his back feet up- getting better on his fronts. He is shod so possibly been roughly handled to do that of he wasn't keen and it's put him off but the vet that did the pre sale vetting said he picked his feet up fine so I'm a little worried he's tweaked something on the journey over. I will keep trying. He will pick them up but quickly stamps them down again like he doesn't realise he can balance on three legs.

After that I had a quick ride on Buddy in the school as the weather is set to be awful again over the next few days :0(

Home late from the yard then had to do my diary for the week and sort the invoices out. What a long day! Have also tweaked something in my neck as Indy spooked at something going back to the field and nearly wrenched my arm out of the socket! Could do with a nice bath but we don't have one anymore!
