Thunder & Lightning!

The household decamped for a walk along the River Goyt this afternoon. Youngest was in fine form which is always nice to see although on the way back I had to get a bit parenty & have words. 

Yesterday she found a brilliantly funny Australian comedy on Netflix called 'Kath & Kim' & we watched a few episodes together. Today she spent the first half of the walk perfecting her Jane Turner impersonation but by the second half it we were all struggling to converse & she was overdoing things a little (a lot!). After a stern but polite request to calm down & have a rest for the last few miles there was a pregnant pause followed by a loudly whispered "no worries mate" ... her timing was chefs kiss perfect but I think I just wanted to climb a large hill & scream into the void! ;-D

Blip is adjacent to where the car was parked - Stockport Hydro at Otterspool Road Bridge. This little hydro power station is powered by two Archimedes Screws called Thunder & Lightning using the water from an old mill weir. The race to the left enables fish to pass either way without harm. I attended the opening ceremony in 2013 and am happy to see it still going strong :-)
