Coat of Arms
I woke quite early and I was cold, but eventually got back to sleep, and then woke up later than I had wanted to. I quickly got myself ready for the day and headed down into town to the Farmers’ Market. I queued for bread and treats, and then picked up a few pies. I then paid a quick visit to the supermarket before heading back home. BB appeared not long after I got in. He was home to play rugby. I made toast all round, then he disappeared. I then realised he was snoozing on the sofa! I then did a few chores and headed back out to the Post Office. It was then back home to make lunch, before we headed off to Dalkeith for BB’s rugby match.
He went off for pre-match training and I went for a wander, which took in a walk by the river to Newbattle Abbey College, and back to the pitches. BB’s team played well, resulting in another good victory. BB had a good game and scored a try, and could have scored a second, if he hadn’t been so selfless. He was almost at the line, and passed it to his friend who hadn’t scored a try in senior rugby unfortunately his friend dropped it. AAAAAAggghhhh! The agony. He got “idiot” of the day!! BB was quite philosophical about it. His friend however will never live it down! BB almost had to down his friend’s pint for being “idiot” of the day, as he had gone straight home.
We then came home, had a quick tea and headed to our local tap room to meet up with the family of one of BB’s friends. We had a lovely evening – My friend S and I were looking at old photos and saying it doesn’t seem long since they were just wee boys, now they are downing pints! The tap room shuts at 10pm, which is very civilised. BB came home and put the first Harry Potter film on, in memory of Professor McGonagall. I watched a bit of it, but my bed was calling. It’s been a good day, but a busy day.
This face and coat of arms was on a wall at Newbattle Abbey College. I think it may be the Kerr family coat of arms.
