A beautiful sunny day. I took another walk around Hebden Bridge before breakfast. After breakfast we drove along to Hebden Bridge past Mum’s childhood home opposite the cricket ground and Centre Vale Park. We stayed in the park for a while chatting and then I left Mum in her own thoughts. Yorkshire folks are incredibly chatty and friendly. We got talking to a man from the Council who discussed the various changes in the Town since Mums day.

We drove up Meadow Bottom to my Granny and Grandpas last house which I visited as a child, then over to the golf club which gave us great views of the valley. Then we went to Gibson Mill at Hardcastle Crags. Beautiful views around the tops on a glorious day. In the evening I walked up the steep hill to Heptonstall and visited the grave of Sylvia Plath. Dinner in the White Lion. A full and very satisfying day.
