Tree in bud: Tiny Tuesday

This simple, but lovely decorative item was given to me by a good friend. I really like the tiny tree bearing buds, representing growth.

Plants and trees can grow because they are planted in the element Earth. I'm always impressed by trees and how their vast roots (it is said that they grow as wide as the widest branches of the tree) stretch out wide under the earth. Their roots can connect to other trees and they can communicate this way.

The symbolism for the element Earth is physical sensation and growth. It also represents groundedness, stability, potential and stillness.

Earth is a Yin element and we are familiar with the term 'Mother Earth'. Earth signs in atrology are: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. They are the doers, creators and organizers of the zodiac. They are rooted and grounded in their approach to life. 

I am a Taurus and feel very close to everything in nature and have a great affinity to trees and plants which grow and are nurtured by the earth.
