Honey fungi

In the woodlands and forests of the UK this is one of the most deadly fungal diseases.  It attacks the roots of trees and shrubs killing off huge areas.  The roots of this funghi can grow up to a metre a year and spread for miles over its life of 1,000 years.  It is one of the largest growing organisms in the world.
