Autumnal Robin
It’s a relatively dry day - and slightly warmer for which we’re very grateful! This little robin perched amongst the blackberries seems pretty pleased about it too!
There’s a short walk before my appointment at the surgery for my second shingles vaccination - and remembering how awful I felt after the first, I’m not really looking forward to it. I’m very used to needles and they don’t bother me at all, but I have to say this one really HURT! Still, perhaps that was the worst of it, for as the day goes on I have none of the previous flu-like symptoms, just a sore arm.
Now the garden has been put to bed for the winter, G has decided to embark on the task of digitalising all the videos of the boys when they were growing up. He’s asked me to order some ‘stuff’ from Amazon - for some reason, it’s always me who does this - including a video head cleaner. Meanwhile, I have a colonoscopy booked for Sunday at the Royal, and they have sent my bowel prep by post.
He comes in and spots the packet of ‘Moviprep’ on the table, and comments on how quickly it has come. I think nothing of it, but find he’s taken it up to the office thinking it’s his video head cleaner - in fairness the packet’s the same size as an old video cassette, and the name is suggestive of film making, hiding the fact that it’s one of the most unpleasant substances known to man! Many of you will know just what I mean! Needless to say, he’s disappointed and will have to wait another day for his parcel to arrive. I, on the other hand, have the joys of Moviprep to look forward to on Saturday….
