Cara
A slightly topsy turvey day in which I worked from home, but then travelled into Leeds in the evening anyway for a gig.
Music came courtesy of Cara Dillon at City Varieties Music Hall. Cara was showcasing her current album, which for the first time includes substantial spoken word elements, backed throughout by a band including husband/arranger Sam Lakeman (sorry, but I still get my Lakemans mixed up). There was lots of storytelling along with the music, poetry and songs, - two hours worth across two sets.
A lot of the stories involved her 93yo Mum, and as my Mum is also 93yo there was extra resonance for me.
