Or more accurately according to my app, a German yellowjacket which the app says can recognise individual faces, which is unusual. I noticed its yellow legs. I took the photo whilst out weeding in the side garden this afternoon - the sun actually came out. More light rain this morning, so I did some admin and made some more vegetable soup.
