Marjorie's ramblings

As the seasons change

I loved being in my own bed last night. I managed to sleep upright for two hours at a time, interspersed with cups of tea. Daisy was happy too.

During the night, I heard from Kate whose Dad had fallen and she was waiting for the paramedics to lift him up. Her electricity had gone off too.

Fortunately the lights were on and the paramedics arrived as we were talking, so I sent information about how to work out which appliance had blown a fuse (probably the kettle).

I drove to Hexham for a quick but necessary shop at Tesco, where I sourced a cough mixture with guaifenesin to try to loosen the cough, plus several different sorts of cough sweets.

Home and to see Margret. How does anyone cope with the unexpected loss a child, however old they are? I was glad to be there.

In my garden, I saw a pile of dry leaves and liked the crispness in the image.

Lots of rest required.

I contacted the police about the iPad and someone will interview me on Friday and take all the details. It is still in the same block of flats in Amsterdam!

BUT, my suitcase arrived before close of play. Hooray!
