Epic

I was pleased to get home in the light today. I should have been at a lecture and a dinner with a visiting speaker from Australia, but she was unable to leave Australia because she contracted Covid. She will be coming in Australia and that will be a complicated and busy week as it is graduation week as well. This week, I didn't get beyond thinking "oh that's time back in my diary". Such short term thinking. I was also due to be at a lecture and dinner tomorrow, but that too has been moved, this time to a date later in October when I will be away. More time back in the diary. So this week, which was to be four evenings out (including the travel back on Monday) followed by a collapse on Friday, has turned into a much more manageable two evenings out and a bit more quiet time at home on Thursday morning. That's good as I have a lot of work related reading and digesting to do, plus I need to prepare some remarks to deliver at our School meeting next week.

I was also pleased to get home at a reasonable time, as I left the house soon after 7am to get to a breakfast get together at Canopy Cafe via a decent cycle around the north Edinburgh paths. 9+ hours at work is quite enough for me. But at least the long cycle this morning gave me my blip, so that's good.

Heading towards an early night with a novel.
