Not Greggs

This used to be a Greggs but is no longer. There is a Greggs further up Leith Walk and one on the Kirkgate. This one used to get a lot of van traffic (and the odd police car). Workers picking up their fill of Greggs treats....

Once the parking restrictions started to be enforced on Leith Walk, I guess the footfall (van-fall) fell considerably and given the other iterations of Greggs up and down the Walk, this one fell by the wayside. Waiting to see what new #leithwalkshop fills the hole. By the standards of most of the shops on the Walk, it's quite big - double fronted. Given that what used to be La Favorita restaurant a bit further down has been on the market for ages and ages and is still empty, I'm not sure we'll see anything move into this vacant lot any time soon.

I stayed later at home this morning, and then headed in for a meeting to support a colleague, followed by a PhD supervision and then two introductory (but lengthy) meetings with final year students whose dissertations I'm supervising. It will be interesting to work with them. I think they both have a niche.

Back home for another quiet night which was supposed to be a lecture and dinner on School business.
