Shelob!
I know that some of you find spiders uncomfortable things to look at, so I've deliberately chosen to feature the whole creature in the thumbnail to try to ensure that you weren't unpleasantly suprised, if they're the suff of your nightmares.
In this case the spider has found lunch in the form of a tasty little orc fly, which it was busy polishing off, when I took this shot. Like Crane Flies (Daddy Long Legs), spiders are very much a feature of the early Autumnal period. Many of them end up providing a useful source of nourishment for birds - and they catch flies - so not all bad then!
