Delivering
I was awake but chose to read my texts, e-mails, etc before getting up and starting my day. We had perfect fall weather so I spent a good deal of the morning outside. I filled the bird feeders (except those I washed), put fresh water in the fountains and enjoyed being on my front porch. Was finishing my prayers when my sister called. She and her hubby are heading to the WV farm. Her hubby’s elderly cousin wants to contribute to the supplies being sent south so my sister asked if I could shop for her. I decided to get baby supplies since my sister saw a mother crying because she had nothing for her baby. Our local Tractor Supply is collecting items to go in the same tractor trailer so I delivered the items there. This silly Santa rooster was standing by the front door. It’s not Silly Saturday but I could not resist using it. With all the tragedy, we need something to make us smile, if only momentarily. While I was shopping, I got my mother some canned vegetables. She was totally out. I also grabbed more emergency supplies and stuff for sandwiches. The toilet paper and paper towel shelves were completely empty. Glad I stocked up earlier. I’m back on the porch watching two sulphur butterflies who refuse to let me photo them. Hubby is in Santorini today. He sent me a snap of their tea today. Almost wish I had gone. He’s seen some magnificent historical sites. So happy for him. I think it is nap time. Wishing you some restful time today. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit and lovely comments, stars and hearts lately. “It may be the rooster that does all the crowing but it's the hen that delivers the goods.” - Jim Hightower
