Big day
Such a privilege to hold Stuart's hand through the night, though he was unconscious I still read to him, talked to him, played some music he liked. A precious night and one I'll remember for a long time. Just after 7 Berno came to take over, and a couple of hours later messaged to say he'd passed away peacefully. What a privilege to have shared this time with him. I later discovered I'd taken this at the time he died. Comforting. I feel relieved for him that he's now at peace, but also sad. He's been a big part of life these last months.
Today is mine and Danny's 15th wedding anniversary, so a strange celebration given Stuart's passing and the sleep deprivation.
This afternoon we had a time praying for the new church, Lighthouse, with some folks...a really encouraging time.
This evening Claire came over to babysit so Danny and I could go out for an anniversary cocktail!
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Stuart passing peacefully and us being able to keep his final wishes which were that he not be alone.
2) 15 years of marriage to Danny... He jokes that our marriage is on probation for the first 50 years, then we'll decide whether or not we want to really commit to one another, ha!
3) The sound of waves and the loveliness of cocktails...a great combo. An extra of a very sleep deprived us!
