Silhouetted
A second day showing our guests around, beginning with our very unusual for them breakfast of kefir, seeds and nuts mixture, and so on, followed by a trip to Spain - how strange that your only visit to Spain will have consisted of a tour of a small town in Extremadura, but we did our best - there is the remains of a castle dynamited by the Portuguese in the 1600's and the bullring where Franco's lot rounded up the population and machine gunned the lot.
Mourão's beach, and home for spaghetti with tomato sauce, outside in the sunshine, naps, and then Mike showed them round our Land, while I had a Zoom meeting. Walked into town via a tour of our castle (the photo), got a private Adega Velha visit, and decided to stay and have supper at Morango Bar.
Gratefuls:
- Miguel offering to open up the Adega so they could see the amphorae, and explaining all about the wine making, bullfighting, and giving us all a tintinho, so lovely of him
- great food and service at Morango Bar, and good conversation
- walking home in the dark, seeing the planets and constellations, different to Brazil, no Polaris, for example
A good day.
