Post Visitor Plaza
The Plaza is Évora's small shopping centre, built since we came here, main attraction for us being the cinema and the Brazilian restaurant.
After we waved our visitors off on their bus back to Lisbon, decided to see what was on at the cinema, and lo and behold, a film I actually wanted to see: Lee, about the photographer, Lee Miller, played by Kate Winslet, trailer here. In my opinion, not so much a biography of her life (it only deals with the years she spent photographing during and after WW2), as a study in why women keep secrets, even from their children. Disturbing, but definitely worth watching. If, like me, you don't know much about her, read up on her before you watch it.
Gratefuls:
- that the visitors had a good time; it's very a different ball game hosting two Brazilian couples our age who had never been abroad before, and not really much idea
- Mike being willing not to go straight home, but have a bit of a relax first
- at last getting the insulation he'd ordered ages ago; turns out they'd never even sent it off, but gave us a better product for the same price, so that was good
