Common Enchantments

return visit to the yard

except for the fox.  We knew foxes were around here but with the dog here we never saw them close.   No that she is gone this one ventured right at the edge of the yard.

The deer have been scare since the storm but we had 5 young ones here today plus three mommas.   It is getting close to mating season and we hardly ever see the bucks when that happens.

We had a brief text from Tate today in North Carolina.  He had gone home from working in town to feed his dog and check on the horse before going to a "jam" session to play music at a friends house who had power.  His cell phone worked and he said his lights were "ON"!!!!!!    He also said there were still power lines along the main road that weren't down but had trees hanging on them so  thought maybe they energized the lines anyway.   He was ready to leave again so he said he would text or call tomorrow.   I know he needs to destress by playing guitar with his friends.

Tomorrow I am leaving to drive up to West Virginia with three of my friends.  We will spend the night in Parkersburg at an old hotel.   Saturday plans include a horse drawn carriage ride and then Sunday we will visit the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania.  Then start home along the backroads in West Virginia.   There may be a few covered bridges and mountain views  in the photos.   I hope the leaves are red and gold.   We are all ready to get away and this location is not anywhere near the devastation.   It looks like beautiful weather for us also.
