Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

That’s a big ‘un Archie!

Well, the aforementioned trip to the V&A in Dundee did not eventuate. JR’s cold symptoms got worse during the evening, and she wasn’t up to having a day out in the morning, as anticipated. I cancelled the bus at 7am, and got a cancellation notice. But I have since got an email complaining that I hadn’t cancelled.

I emailed the V&A early, and rang when their office hours opened at 10am. Had to leave a voicemail, but I’m hoping we can use those tickets maybe next week. Haven’t had any acknowledgement from them.

JR has been in bed, resting, all day. I have been plying her with treats and keeping her phone charged up. I went to the shop and got a nice tasty wrap and some cut up fresh fruit. And her favourite chocolate (dark, with sea salt).

I didn’t know what to do with myself. We really missed Archie. And there was no point going ‘out for a walk’ without him. Why would I? Usually, when he’s away all afternoon on a Saturday, we can go for lunch in town.

So I relaxed, dozed, watched some undemanding tv, ate my Maltesers, and dozed some more.

But he’s back home now.

PS I’ve just had an email from the bus company, acknowledging that I DID cancel the bus journey. But I did NOT cancel the return journey! Incredible!
