Heart of the Furnace, Steel Dragon, Ebbw Vale

Astronomy Club Day at Ebbw Vale today and BobsBlips was also interested in attending so we met up beforehand to visit the Steel Dragon at Ebbw Vale before a cooked breakfast (what, another one!) to last us through the day. Back-to-back talks on astronomical photography, the James Webb telescope and the chemistry of the universe. Plenty of variety and, while Bob went to sample the planetarium, I had a catch-up with friends in the society who were ‘working’ to put on the show today. A full day’s entertainment packed into a few hours and by 3.30pm we were ready for a coffee and cake to close our day trip. I headed back via the dragon – looked so much different in the afternoon sun – and back home to get the grass cut before the promised rain overnight and into tomorrow. All done, looking forward to a rest day tomorrow.
