Common Enchantments

Blennerhassett Island State Park

Today we sternwheeled (boated) on the Ohio River to the state park island named for the same people who had the hotel where we stayed. It is about 350 acres in the middle of the river where the family had their home and lived. It is a sad story. The home burned but the state built a replica ( not exactly the same) for use to commemorate the history of the island. We had a lovely ride on the horse drawn wagon around the park.

After the island visit we drove to Somerset, Pennsylvania to visit the Flight 93 Memorial Wall and chimes tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day in West Virginia.
