K didn't have a great night.......vomitted....so there's some questions now about what's happening....? On the positive side she's able to talk a little more today and express more easily what she wants.....bed raising or lowering, drink etc. She's clearly able to hear and respond to questions with nods and smiles and is generally more conscious and connected. She's very tired and drowsy but I guess that's to be expected. It feels a bit two- steps-forward-one-step-back but so long as the general progress is forwards that's a good thing.
K's day has had 2 more steps forward.....1x CT scan AND 2x vertical x-rays [clavicle & spine] and another step (kind of) backwards in that she's soooo exhausted after today and has felt very uncomfortable at times. Hoping a decent period of rest overnight will help her immensely.
Masks are encouraged in the hospital.......unsurprisingly....and emptying pockets and bags at the end of the day can yield quite a haul of them. A new one every time you return to the ICU after maybe a loo break or a refreshment break and now that K can only have 2 visitors at a time we're rotating time so more ins and outs equals more masks.
