A Bit of Kaiser

On a day full of poor weather, after taking some friends to the local railway station (they're off to see family in Australia) I thought to improve my understand of flash use in manual – adjusting the background with the camera and the subject with the flash's power.

This little porcelain piece was one of our first ornaments after the birth of our first son.  We lived in Germany then and we could buy it tax-free (otherwise it might have been rather too expensive) and we have managed to keep it intact despite 19 moves.
