Dolly's Day

SMOKING CYCLIST.

Had another quiet day indoors.  Mostly relaxing and watching TV.  Did pop my head out of the back door to feed my neighbours cat Fluffy.  She was sitting on my garden wall gazing at me through the kitchen window so I took pity on her and went out with some food.

An indoor blip was required so I had a look through my late husband's cigarette card albums for something suitable.  Came across an album entitled " Cycling 1839 - 1939". Its full of illustrated cards of different bicycles and underneath each card there is some history of each cycle.  The one I chose to blip is an Italian Velocino Bicycle from the 1930's.

The seat is positioned over the normal-sized rear wheel. The tiny front wheel was about 10 inches in diameter. The handlebar was reversible, giving the option of under-seat steering. Mussolini is said to have commissioned the Velocino as a compact easily stored urban vehicle.

It rained trhough the night and this morning but it was quite sunny and dry later on.
