A Girl of Many Talents
Sky texted me at 1:30 am to ask if I had any photos of my mother as a young girl. Why would she do that? Not sure what time I finally got back to sleep but it was almost time to get up. Of course, I went through the 40K+ photos on my phone looking for the ones we used for my mother’s 90th birthday. They must only be on my laptop. Somehow, I was up and ready to go when Kim and Mancil stopped at the house to get me. We met Brooklyn at Harris Teeter and drove 90 minutes to her soccer field. It was actually a bit warm in the sun. She was goalie for the first half of the game. She was on the ground quite a bit saving the ball from getting in the goal. The teams were tied 0-0 at the end of the half. Our second goalie was scored on twice in a few minutes. Brooklyn went in on offense. She did not score but played well. The other team’s best scorer was heading to the goal again. Out of nowhere, Brooklyn stole the ball, and ended up on the ground under a player. She was a little shook up but stayed in the game. She loves soccer and can play most positions. We lost 4-0. Her dad had scoped out restaurants before the game. He found a tiny Mexican place that was mainly carryout. It had a few tables so we ate in. The reviews were spot on - everything was delicious. Mancil had never eaten Mexican street corn. He was so pleased with it. I am supposed to have dinner at Jamie’s but I’ll get leftovers for tomorrow instead. Hubby will be home late tomorrow night. He really enjoyed Athens sightseeing today. I hope your weekend was a fine one. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “When planning out a soccer training regime, one must strive for a realistic and consistent program that will diminish specific weaknesses. Broad versatility of soccer skills is the Nirvana of every dedicated trainee.” - Pele
