Derwentwater Boats

To avoid a rather damp forecast we headed northwards to Keswick today. While the rest of the gang hit the outdoor clothing shops I headed down to the Derwentwater lake with its iconic boats, today with a backdrop of some rather dark moody skies.

Meeting up again for lunch we headed down to the beach at Ashness Pier where we met a pair of gorgeous dogs and their owner. The dogs were real posers and happily allowed us to take their pictures on the pier (extra).

It was then onto Watendlath in Borrowdale where the drizzle started in earnest. W and R braved the weather and power climbed up the fell for their photos, while P and I stayed by the tarn and concentrated on water cascades and macros (extra 2).

While the others felt they struggled more with their images today, I was in more of my comfort zone, but it was another good day. Not sure what tomorrow will bring as the rain is now bucketing down as I type … watch this space again!
